Classic cinnamon stars are one of our favorites cookies during Christmas time and are always worth a sin.
Ingredients for about 40 pieces:
3 egg whites
200 g of powdered sugar
400 g of ground almonds
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp lemon juice
Beat 2 egg whites until stiff and mix with 100g powdered sugar. Mix almonds with cinnamon powder and fold in. The dough should be moist and slightly sticky.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface approx. 1 cm thick. Cut out stars with a cookie cutter and place on a baking sheet lined with Blechrein Winter.
Preheat the oven to 150 ° C. Beat the third egg white until stiff. Add the remaining 100 g powdered sugar and the lemon juice and beat until the mass is spreadable.
Spread the meringue mass on the stars with a brush.
Bake the cinnamon stars one after the other in the oven for about 15 minutes. The meringue should stay white and the almond dough should feel moist.
